Annapolis Opticians' owner, Douglas J. Corby, has over 40 years' experience as an optician. Doug was trained in England through an apprenticeship system that combined five years of on-the-job training with classroom study. He also trained with Keeler's low vision clinic in London and worked for several years as a low vision specialist. He is a Fellow of the Association of British Dispensing Opticians, an Honored Fellow of the Opticians Association of America, and American Board of Opticianry Certified. He is also a past President of the Opticians Association of Maryland.



At Annapolis Opticians, we design and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses. We also fabricate our eyeglasses in our own in house lab. The care and skill with which we make our rimless glasses, such as Silhouette, explains our phenomenal success with this stunning eyewear. Our staff have both the knowledge and experience to create for you the perfect pair of glasses, that are stylish and functional.

Our optometrist Michael F. Diffendall, O.D. has been serving our customers since 2003 performing eye exams with the latest in technology. Our courteous staff is knowledgeable in all types of eye wear, eye exams, contact lenses, and eyewear repair. They are at your service to guide you in selecting the most suitable frames for you facial shape, lifestyle, and prescription suitability. Not all frames will accommodate every prescription and some frames will work better than others for progressive lenses. We offer frames for specific uses – sports, swimming, safety glasses, cycling, motorcycling, golf, sailing, and more.
